My passion for the good on this earth runs deep. These are a few of the buckets I’m particularly fond of!

The 7 Mind Molding Mountains of Cultural Influence effect every facet of our lives. They shape our desires, hopes, expectations, behaviors, and thoughts both consciously and unconsciously. Through the Kelli Macatee brand, I share my unique perspective and worldview on the 7 Mountains: Faith, Governance, Money/Work, Education, Health/Wellness/The Family, Creativity/The Arts, and Media.

  • Faith Mountain

I am passionate about my relationship with The Living God. I have found that so often the world and “religion” gets it so wrong. I have searched high and low. I have wrestled and questioned. I have searched many religions and ultimately found myself empty, lost, and discontent. In my darkest moments, I found there is a true light that bursts through if you ask for it and allow it.

That Light has a Name because it is a Person. It is alive, present, and full of love. It is the ethos from which I live my days and He rescued me from deep darkness. The Way, the Truth, and the Life isn’t easy, but it’s highly valuable and worthy of deeply considering. Read more HERE.

  • Freedom Fighting/Governance Mountain

I am passionate about my city, Dallas, my state, Texas, the United States of America, and the whole world. I deeply love this land and her people. As a citizen of The Cherokee Nation and a direct descendant of the Fuller family on the Mayflower, the marriage of the native people and the pioneers from Europe searching for a better way is in my blood. There is a massive connection between governance and faith that few are talking about.

The Declaration of Independence speaks of nature and nature’s God. The original documents of this great nation acknowledge there is a God, there is order, and even nature obeys it. Read more HERE.

  • Money/Work Mountain

Humans are designed to sow their gifts and abilities out into the world. We become very disillusioned and unfulfilled when we are not working in some capacity. There is a great fallacy in our culture that if I have money, I don’t need to work. We must come to value hard work and not abhor it or do all we can to avoid it. Not only is it a very important tool in the human experience, but it is a key pathway to true fulfillment.

Money and work effects everyone. In the Bible, if you don’t work you don’t eat. There is a direct correlation between work and the ability to eat and be fulfilled and satisfied, but modern culture has largely perverted this notion and we’ve lost sight of the value of hard work. Can we find our way again? Yes! Read more HERE.

  • Education/Learning Mountain

I absolutely LOVE to learn. I can’t get enough of it. Any topic, I’m interested. It is so very fun and exciting. I believe our youth are suffering because “learning” has been made into something it’s not: standardized testing, making grades, and in some place full on indoctrination. That is NOT learning and it certainly isn’t fun. But true learning IS fun and very exciting!

Ideally, the education sphere would prepare the next generation to meet the needs of the marketplace and by doing so, training them to make a living immediately. Instead, we have large swathes of people who are ill-equipped to make a living, yet seemingly brilliant. But is that really brilliance? If you can argue a point, but can’t feed yourself, maybe that isn’t so brilliant after all! Read more HERE.

  • Health, Wellness, & The Family Mountain

It’s critical to be your own health advocate. Wholistic health and a lifestyle of wellness is near and dear to my heart. I’m a true child of the ‘80’s and grew up on Dr. Pepper, Trix cereal, and Blue Bell Ice Cream. Breaking those entrenched habits was next to impossible. A decades long battle with insomnia, infertility, migraines, food and environmental allergies, and inflammation taught me how to be my own health advocate. There’s nothing more empowering!

I include the family here because family systems and family norms heavily influence health and wellness. If we are to spur one another onto greatness, we must start within the family unit.

  • Creativity/The Arts & Entertainment Mountain

The arts are pivotal to the human experience and expressions of what’s going on in the culture. This image cracks me up because messes royally stress me out, yet I LOVE creativity! It’s a paradox inside me that I’m always wrestling with—the longing for order and balance with the longing for something new. The birth of something new is always messy and often chaotic, yet incredibly exciting! That place of creation is so exhilarating!

There’s an old joke that says, “Where do you find a creative accountant? I prison.” BAHAHAHA! But I’ve come across many gifted and creative accountants that are awe-inspiring because they have talents I simply do not. Creativity comes in all shapes and sizes and is critical to innovation and the future.

  • Speaking Truth/Media

Media is a vital tool in speaking the truth. I love big and live big. It’s the only way I know to be. To me, there is nothing more loving than kindly speaking the truth. Think about when someone tells you that you have spinach in your teeth. The actual moment itself can feel awkward, but you’re SO thankful that someone was courageous enough to let you know! And then instantly the human instinct is to say to those around you, “Why didn’t you TELL ME?!”

As much as I would love to turn off all news, somehow we have to stay somewhat in the “know” of our world. That’s why it’s critical to have a protocol in place to verify news sources and resources. Once that is in place, you can stay pretty balanced no matter what the headlines are.
